Get kids involved with nature
My idea is to get kids involved with nature by taking them on walks and exposing them to wildlife. Exposing them to the environment around us will create more awareness and will drive them to help do their part and make a difference.
This proposal is being evaluated
Type of funding: Programs and services (non-capital)
Rough cost estimate: Under $500,000
Evaluation notes:
✅ This idea could be implemented without changing current policy or law.
✅ This idea is within the City's jurisdiction.
✅ This idea doesn't name a specific vendor.
❌ This idea would incur costs indefinitely.
Justification: This is a general request for more environmental education/nature programming for youth.
Other notes: Seattle Park and Recreation offers multiple Outdoor/Environmental Education programs, as well as partners with community stakeholders to provide this programming. The addition of target demographic and/or neighborhood would be helpful in knowing where additional programming could be added.
