The People's Budget
your voice, your choice
Idea Collection is Live! đź’
What would you like to see in your community? What are your ideas to improve Seattle's neighborhoods? Dream big!Â
During the Idea Collection phase of Seattle's participatory budgeting process, community members share their ideas for how the city should spend $27 million in public funds. Your ideas will get turned into proposals that the whole Seattle community will vote on across five focus areas: housing and physical spaces, mental health, youth and children, economic development, and crisis and wellness.Â
This participatory process is powered by you. We're putting the mic in your hands, asking you to tap into your radical imagination and lived experience. Share your suggestions with us at these upcoming live events and stay tuned for a link to our online idea submission portal.
Join us at our $27 Million Dollar PB Cookout on Sunday
Come out to Othello Park this Sunday, July 23rd from 12-7pm as we officially begin collecting ideas on how to spend $27 million dollars of the city's budget through our current Participatory Budgeting Process. We will be giving out $25 gift cards to the first 100 people who share their ideas on what they’d like to see funded in our communities. Plus, everyone who shares an idea will also enter a raffle to win $50 gas cards!
The event will include live DJ sets all day from Toya B and Vitamin D, a special youth step team performance, an open mic, and FREE FOOD from Ezelles’ Fried Chicken, Lil Red’s Catering , Winnie’s Cafe and Deli, and The Greedy Vegan.Â
Come out with your friends and family to celebrate community, share your voices on important community issues, and get nourished.
